Are you an artist or creator?
TOAST (purveyors of all things thoughtful) are calling out for potters, painters, illustrators, sculptors, wood carvers, embroiderers, poets, weavers and any other forms of artist to enter their Works of the Heart competition.
Running until the 4th January, creatives have the opportunity to submit a piece of original work of their heart with the hopes of being selected as one of the twelve winners who will have their work featured in the windows of one of the twelve TOAST stores around the UK throughout the month of February.
I'm no artist, but I did used to work as a Visual Merchandiser and took a Window Display module at university, so I understand the power of a successful store window. A great display will catch the eye of passers by, particularly those who may not ordinarily glimpse at the store. After initially capturing attention and invoking admiration, it will entice people to enter the store to find out more about the brand. It should perfectly reflect the brand identity whilst providing interest and intrigue.
I'm imaging woven pieces of art filling the windows, thought-provoking words painted upon the glass, living displays created from beautifully styled plants hanging from above, painted backdrops, carved wooden forests, bespoke ceramics protruding horizontally from the glass and illustrations creeping into the corners of the window. Let your imagination run free.
To enter the competition, simply create your artwork and complete the entry form on the TOAST website,
'Works of the Heart' is the concept of TOAST's SS17 collection, celebrating creative minds and exploring their passions over time and across culture.
