The Best Candles for a Candle Addict

Fess up, you know you're an addict. I'm not the only one who has a candle problem.

I'm actually unable to wander past a display of candles without wanting to buy one. Is that what happens when you hit 30? I just think that candlelight is so much cosier than harsh overhead bulbs, and it's a key ingredient for hygge!

Not just any candles will do, however. So here is my pick of my favourite candle brands. You won't see any mention of Jo Malone or Diptique here!

I tend to keep my eyes peeled for lesser-known brands and small businesses when shopping, and Instagram is great for seeking out new brands to covet. Admittedly, I have been known to judge a book by its cover, and I am a sucker for pretty packaging. I especially love candles that come inside jars, which I can continue to reuse when the wicks run out. And I always tend to make a beeline towards citrus scents, or smells that remind me of the outdoors (wood smoke, freshly cut grass, sea air).

The type of wax used is also a key deciding factor. I try to stay clear of paraffin wax, as its a by-product of the oil industry, and tend to buy soy wax candles, which are a lot greener.

Let me know if you have any candle recommendations to add to my list!
